Before 21-year-old Elizabeth Lewis had even tossed her cap into the air at her May 2007 graduation from St. Mary’s College of Maryland, the political science/economics double-major had already made a name for herself throughout the state of Maryland.
Before accepting her college diploma, Lewis, an Elkton native, was presented with the challenge of completing a senior honors project, a yearlong research project that all St. Mary’s College seniors are required to finish. While many of her classmates dedicated themselves to typing out endless papers full of facts and findings, Lewis decided to go with something a little more hands-on n a filmed documentary that has, in recent months, caught the attention of numerous media organizations and won her an award for Best Senior Project in the St. Mary’s political science department.
