Elkton Company D soldiers headed to Middle East

Seventy-nine members of Company D at the Elkton Armory are among approximately 1,300 Maryland National Guard soldiers set for active duty mobilization, according to Capt. Randy Short, a spokesman for the 58th Brigade.
Company D, part of the 1st Battalion of the 175th Infantry Regiment and made up of soldiers from Cecil County and the surrounding area, is destined for Iraq, along with hundreds of other Guardsmen from units throughout the state.
