Parents, teachers demand renovations
*North East Middle School request came too late, school board says

The aging North East Middle School is in desperate need of improvement, according to members of the school’s parent-teacher organization.

“The bathrooms are unsatisfactory, there is a large amount of asbestos in the building and there are multiple areas of inefficient energy use, including the original boiler,” parent Robert Laird told the county school board during a presentation Monday.
